Municipal News

 1) The November newsletter of the Victoria County Heritage & Archives Dept. is now available.  

 2) Scott MacAulay, President & CEO, Cape Breton Resorts, Baddeck, received the Tourism Champion
     Award at the 2009 Crystal awards of Excellence at the TIANS Annual Conference held in Halifax recently.
     Congratulations to Mr. MacAulay for his contributions to the tourism industry in Victoria County, Cape Breton
     Island and Nova Scotia.

 3) The Victoria County Tourism Resource Centre has been updated on December 4 & 6 with new articles in
     Atlantic Canada & National Tourism, International Tourism News, Technology News and Tourism
     Calendar. Some of these articles include 2010 NS Tourism Plan, 2010 NS Tourism Partnerships and Programs,
     October and Year End NS Tourism Statistics, and Victoria County Occupancy rate and more. A new blog
     post has been added-Tourism Online Marketing Trends and a new video on Social Media Revolution.
    
 4) Tourism funding programs and application form for tourism groups and community groups are now posted on
     the tourism resource centre website along with the municipal tourism committee members and 2009-
     2010 workplan and priorities for tourism. The revised Tourism Capital Projects policy & guidelines is now
     posted as well.

 5)  Victoria County is featured in the Autumn issue of Nova Scotia Open to the World magazine in the
     Rural Broadband article on page 29 & 31.
